Present this Power Point to introduce telenovelas and explain how they differ from American soap operas. (Make the cultural comparison.) Download this FREE Power Point presentation that includes many clips for funny or overly dramatic telenovelas. There are example telenovelas from several countries. (Please note that all video files are included in the folder but will need to be hyperlinked again once saved to your computer. The hyperlinks will not transfer. Please see notes on the first Power Point slide for further instructions.) The teacher follows along with the Power Point by introducing the telenovela and the country from which it originated. Then, click on the video icon to watch a telenovela clip. When the clip stops, read the possible answers for what occurs next in the video. The class votes by holding up A, B, C, or D cards or they write their guesses on whiteboards. Then, the teacher plays the next clip on the following slide and shows the correct answer so the students can see who guessed correctly.
